5 Tips how to get Tattooed
In this you tube video, i explain, 5 important tips on how to get tattooed. Out of my 15 years experience, i selected 5 important points, in order to make your tattoo journey positive, and exiting, following some basic guidance, it will help you along the way.
I thought it would be good to have a full page dedicated on how I work, covering everything from how I approach a tattoo process.
All tattoo artists work different, all artists have different attitudes and points of view, so you have to find an artist who fit your attitude and your point of view.
If you are looking for a quick tattoo, there are tattoo artists who will deliver that for you, and if you are looking for a sensible piece of art in your body for the rest of your life, you can find a tattoo artist for that too.
I have built my way of working over the years and I stick to it. As we know, Roman wasn’t built in one day, so if the client wishes to have a piece of art, they will need to have patience, dedication, and have faith in the process.
The major reason of failed tattoos, is due to lack of faith in the process, and communication with the artist.
Choosing one artist, and getting another artist to finish your tattoo, is not going to match.
All you have to do is communicate with your artist, you chose someone to get tattooed by, you stick with them, anything can be solved in a tattoo, if you have faith in the artist and in the process.
When I paint and draw, it works out perfect, and that’s because I have the opportunity to go back to it, multiple times. I understand with a tattoo is different, for the fact that there’s a person there, however, a tattoo artist is not in control of a client coming back to them, and a Tattoo Artist is not in charge of someone’s decision or emotions.
However, I can guarantee, if a client sticks with their artist, and have faith in the process, I will do anything to make sure the client is ok with the tattoo, even if I have to retouch it, as many times as it needs. And if I feel like the client has paid enough for the tattoo, I will make sure the tattoo is finished under my treat.
How long my tattoo will take?
That’s the question I get asked most. And the best answer is, as long as it takes.
Trting to guess how long your tattoo will take, will not dictate how the tattoo will look in the end, and the quality of your tattoo.
There’s a difference in between having a tattoo, and having a piece of art. A lot of people have a tattoo nowadays, but not everyone has a piece of art. And the reason why, is lack of patience, some people want everything now, they don’t realise that good artists have a waiting list. So if you want a walk in, you will have the available artist who’s not booked up for a reason.
The easiest way to make a tattoo pop out, and speed the process is to put a black line everywhere, everything pops out really quick. So if the client has a budget, and times how long the tattoo should take, I put a black outline everywhere, due to being limited by time and budget.
So what I’m trying to explain is, your tattoo will be the time you wish to spend on it. There are multiple ways and styles your tattoo can be done. So I work around the client, in order to meet their request. In the end of the day, you get what you pay for.
I’m not a tattoo artist to work exactly by the hour, if I’m doing a tattoo I love the style or the subject, if I’m feeling good, I can give the client extra time, to make sure the tattoo looks good.
I’m more about the end result, rather than how long the tattoo takes, because I know you can’t rush art. And everything that’s done properly it takes time. However, due to how long something mite take, and for the fact that, I try to give the best to everyone who have faith in the process, when the full sleeve is finished, I give the client a full free day session, to go over everything, and make sure everything is as good as it can be.
Weirdly enough that last free session I give to the client, is the session I most enjoy. It’s almost like polishing a brand new car. That last session I feel like, it makes the sleeve stand out more than others, due to the care it’s been put to it, I believe everything comes down to how much care you spend on it, and if the client is dedicated about their tattoo and getting tattooed by me, is only fair on my side to give back some respect.
It’s a great feeling when a tattoo is complete, and I have a lot of respect for clients who are dedicated and have faith, specially with large tattoos, in the middle of the process it can be frustrating, as you can’t see what’s going to happen, so only the ones who have faith and with a good attitude, will see and deserve to have the end result.
