Black and grey realism. Wild life is Ken’s favourite subject to his full leg sleeve tattoo, what a nice guy Ken was, he previously started his full sleeve project by another artist, who had to leave the country. I was happy to take the sleeve, as he wanted black and grey realism, and he seemed really easy going as well. We are here to help customers, so if I see a light in the end of the tunnel, I take on the job, being able to help customers is a big part of being a tattoo artist. Cover-ups and finishing big projects, is harder than starting a fresh skin tattoo, however, when everything works out in the end, and you build a positive vibe, and trust with your client, it makes the risk you faced worthwhile. Wolf Black and Grey Tattoo

Work in progress, half sleeve tattoo, black and grey realism. It was my clients first tattoo, what a cool dude, he’s a game designer, so really interesting to tattoo someone who’s an artist and someone who has the point of view of an artist. Game developers are for sure my favourite artists nowadays, they have to work so hard in order to deliver a great quality game, and nowadays, the competition is just getting tougher, so they keep up to deliver always better games and better experiences. If you are in to that sort of inspirational story, specially in the art world, I would recommend a documentary on “Prime” called “Indie Game” it’s about 2 independent game developers, who are under so much pressure to finish their Indie Game. After watching that documentary, it made me respect game developers a lot more. I’m really looking forward to finish this half sleeve, it will be all black and grey and I’m also looking forward to spend time with a game developer. Thank you

Black and grey free hand tattoo

Free handing a tattoo is a big responsibility, however is a very natural way you can make the tattoo flow with the body. When the client is chilled and have the faith, it inspires me to free hand and give something organically to the clients body. It’s nice when the client makes the most about the fact that a tattoo artist can draw and receives something custom tattooed just for them. I love doing black and grey tattoos, and I draw it, in order to learn about shadow and give my best to my client.

Angel black and grey half sleeve. It was a pleasure working with Carl such a patient and chilled guy. Contrast is important when tattooing black and grey due to longevity, all tattoos fade over time, and black is the only tone that’s gonna hold your tattoo over time. I understand some clients do not like to have much black in their tattoo and I understand, however the tattoo artist should make sure the client knows they are getting a temporary tattoo. A lot of young tattoo artists will start learning to tattoo after 5 years, when they see their tattoo aged, specially in black and grey. Black and grey realism is a style that I draw in order to understand how shadow fall in the subject, I had a seminar with Carlos Torres about shadow, and when I had the seminar I discovered how much I didn’t know about shadow. A lot of black and grey tattoos are based on black, grey and skin, and that’s a very basic understanding of black and grey, that’s how I used to see it and understand, however after understanding and studying black and grey and attending a seminar with one of the best black and grey tattoo artists in the world, I realised that, black and grey tattoos, there’s a lot more deeper understanding than, black, grey and skin. And that’s the thought I have when looking at most black and grey tattoos.

Japanese and Greek Mythology pencil drawing. Geisha and Centaurus meeting in the same dimension, the outcome of this scene, it will be up to the viewer. That’s the beauty about looking at a piece of art, it’s to interpret it in your own personal way. The way I interpret it, is that anything is possible. I have been learning about 4th dimension, and that’s where we go when we dream, in that dimension everything is possible. So I try to achieve that sort of idea, when I draw. Thank you

Genisha Buddha Pencil Drawing

It’s a pleasure to be able to step away from tattooing, and work toward a form of art that gives me a lot of freedom, to express myself, without any time limit. Drawing outside of tattooing, is really important to allow me as an artist to develop artistically and deliver more than the reference has to offer. A lot of tattoos nowadays are Google images, and i do make the most of that facility, to find ideas and have references, however, being able to draw, you can go beyond that google reference, and give your customer something more unique, and not tattoo an exact copy of what a lot of artists can have. When you draw, you can also build your own style, so your works has almost a signature, and it’s really satisfying to be able to offer my client more than a google image. Thank you

New Black and Grey Art Collection

I have a new black and grey art collection in my station, I love to draw and do tattoos in black and grey. Drawing the style of the tattoo I wish to do, is a way to practise the style before I tattoo it. As I love the black and grey style of tattooing, I have the urge to go home and draw. I believe if a tattoo artist only tattoo black and grey style, they will be limited by the reference. Drawing a black and grey style of art, it enables you to learn how the shadow falls in the subject, it allows the artist to think outside the box while doing a tattoo, drawing black and grey it allows the artist to go beyond the reference, and deliver a more artistic black and grey tattoo. I understand nowadays technology has changed a lot of trades including tattooing. So a lot of tattoo artists believe they don’t need to draw, as photoshop and tools allow them to deliver a copied image from google. However if you dedicate to drawing what you tattoo, you can give more than a google image.

South American Half Sleeve Tattoo

I have been have a lot of fun with this South American half sleeve black and grey tattoo. This is not the final picture, as we have just one more session left on it. Doing a tattoo like that, you have to be able to draw, as a lot of tattoos nowadays are made from google images. However this South American form of art is non existent nowadays, and a lot of these images, from these old South American civilisations, are so decayed and not very clear to recognise the full image, of what their art looked like. So what I did was to find pieces and parts of puzzled ancient art. And put them all together and create our own version of that ancient art. And I absolutely love that. When me and the client create a new version of what they are trying to achieve, therefore, the client has their request full field with a piece of art created just for them. That tattoo, you will not see anywhere else, because my client allowed me to create something just for him. And I’m so grateful that he had faith, gave me freedom to express myself, with that attitude, it’s more likely you will achieve a better tattoo.
