Phoenix Tattoo by Louis Santos

I have been doing a lot of Phoenixes lately, and I love doing them, each time I try to do something different with it within my style, being able to draw it really helps to deliver a custom Phoenix to the client. Phoenixes are made out of fire, however I try to translate to tattooing, in a more solid way, due to longevity. Thank you

Phoenix Tattoo front angle

Saab’s tattoo was a quiet large one, so I’m trying to upload different images from different angles, thank you Saba, I had too much fun with this one. Currently taking bookings on realism. Surrealism, fantasy, Egyptian, Greek Mythology, thank you.

Full Thigh Colour Phoenix Tattoo

It was a pleasure working with Saba. She requested me to draw the Phoenix for her, and she said the reason why she chose me, it was because she saw my drawing portfolio. In my eyes all tattoo artists should have an art portfolio, because if not, how can they be considered artists? The word tattoo artist has lost its meaning nowadays, as anyone who tattoos is a tattoo artist. A tattoo artist is someone who brings outside knowledge from painting and drawing to the tattooing craft, in order to make a better tattoo. Thank you

Thor Marvel digital painting

I have heard there’s a new Thor movie coming out, and I can’t wait to check it out. Marvel is closer to my heart, as they were the reason I became an artist. If it wasn’t for Stan Lee’s creativity. I wouldn’t be a tattoo artist today. When I was a kid I was obsessed with buying comics. And that’s all we had, however it was good, because comics, they develop your imagination, they make you wonder that scene you are reading about, where when you watch a movie, they create all the imagination for you.

Phoenix full back tattoo by Louis Santos

Hi guys, thanks for visiting this space. I’m always going to try to keep this site updated, as this is more of my personal site, I enjoy posting here, so I hope everyone has had a good weekend like I had. In this post I would like to mention about Martins full back Phoenix Tattoo. I used to do a lot of black and grey tattoos, and I still love to do them, however I enjoy colour tattoo a lot too, it takes a bit longer, however you have more of a variety of tones and more space to play in the playground basically. Tattooing Martin, is an experience to remember. I had previously done him a full sleeve, a few years ago, we became friends, and I really look forward to see him, he’s a mega genuine guy, we can talk about anything and have a laugh, and that’s amazing, when you are spending a full day with someone. Thank you for looking, and I’m happy to take any realism requests with Phoenixes, roses, lily and lotus flowers, warriors and fantasy stuff. Stay safe

Phoenix Tattoo in Colour

It was a pleasure working with Ade, he was willing to put time to his tattoo, and make it the best it could be, without limits with time and budget. When you are marking your body for life, and you limit it with time and budget, you are limiting your tattoo. I was sure to invest as much time as possible in his tattoo, in order to have a satisfying outcome. We built a good relationship, and that’s the best feeling you can have as a tattoo artist, is when you meet people with the same attitude as you, and you both like to do things properly, we work as a team, we get through anything, if the client has the right attitude, then you end up becoming friends. In the end, I can only be grateful to have clients like Ade, who inspire me to carry on doing what I do, which is not only give a tattoo but a good experience as well. Thank you Ade

Big Phoenix Project

Today I got to work on Saba’s leg Phoenix tattoo. I think next time we are going to finish it. It has been a big project. She first walked in the studio asking me if I could design a Phoenix just for her, and I replied, for sure. She seemed happy with the consultation and made an appointment. After a few sessions tattooing her, she admitted that, she visited multiple other studios, and she asked if they would be able to design something just for her, and they said no. How we are called tattoo “artists” and some studios “not all” are only copying images from internet. 13 years ago, when I began tattooing, i would not expect, this would be the way the tattoo industry would been heading to. I was expecting every tattoo artist in the industry pulling amazing drawings, paintings and customised design tattoos as well, but no, it’s gone the other way round artistically. It just itches my head to try to understand, how can someone be considered an artist, when they don’t draw. In the video game industry, if you copy an image, you probably would loose your job, in the tattoo industry when someone copy an image, they get rewarded for it. I love drawing, and it’s something I will never stop doing, it’s in me, and it gives me an opportunity to express myself, and get my ideas out.

Realistic Phoenix Tattoo by Louis

It was such a pleasure working with Adam, he needed a cover-up in his back. When he asked me if it was possible with a Phoenix, I was happy to go ahead. I stencilled most of the designed, and free handed the rest of it. I was happy to do a realistic approach to the tattoo, and Adam was happy to go ahead with a realistic tattoo light to it. He gave me artistic freedom which it helped me along the process. I love doing Phoenixes. I’m currently working on a new one, this time it’s gonna be a leg piece. And I can’t wait to complete and post it on this website. So keep an eye open for mote updates. Take care
