Egyptian Mythology Tattoos in Manchester

I can only start saying that I love Egyptian Mythology. The Egyptians were a culture that captivated the imagination of multiple cultures and people. Mythological beliefs are strong in Egyptian culture, divinity and human spirit together makes any curious person wonder and be intrigued with this amazing culture.

Egyptian Mythology stories are powerful, Egyptian mythology is more than a superstition, it is a way to understand the mysteries of the universe. I have had then experience of speaking to people about the Universe and how our reality works, and they said, I’m not joining your cult. One thing I’m certain is, you can not reason with the ignorant.

How does someone who is born in this reality, it ignores the fact that, there are so many questions to be made, and they choose to be blind, react to life and not really live it. We will probably never find out the truth, where we come from, or why we are here, but one thing is for certain, past cultures have left us clues and ideas, about how the Universe works, and how our reality came to be.

Ancient Egyptian, were probably the most artistic and spiritual society I have ever seen, that’s why I do have a connection with the Egyptians, and if someone asks me, would you rather have lived in the Egyptian times than now, I would definitely say yes. And I do believe past societies have left us ideas and beliefs that could help us in our journey of discovering the mysteries of the universe. In order to discover the mysteries of the universe, you must study a lot of different subjects. Once I saw a podcast of a teacher who was a Christian, a biologist, and a physician, and it was a really good debate, because he studied a lot of different components that dissected the possibility of an essence or what makes our reality what it is.

So in this drawing, I wanted to enjoy drawing a large Egyptian Goddess portrait, I wanted to really focus on the main areas of the face, the eyes, the nose and the mouth, so doing so, i would be able to really have fun editing the face by drawing it by hand. And having space to play with textures and allow myself to be creative and have fun. Creativity is important when approaching a drawing, and allowing yourself to be creative it really helps when creating texture.

Drawing, it allows me to study images I’m interested in, so when I come to tattoo something similar, I will be able to deliver a better Tattoo for my clients.

This drawing was made with charcoal and graphite, I love doing 3d Mythology drawings, it is so much fun and I get the opportunity to learn something new with it, in order to deliver the best tattoo I can in Greater Manchester.

Alex Ferguson Manchester United Portrait Paint.

As I love football, I have a business painting football t-shirts, called Football Hype. I also like to read books about people who I admire their achievements, Alex Ferguson is an example of leadership, hard work and victories, so I bought his autobiography to read. While reading his book, I painted a Manchester United t-shirt with Sir Alex Ferguson’s portrait. I was happy with the outcome, I end up framing it, and putting it up for sale. 

The guys I work with, had an idea of giving the paint to the landlord, as he is a Manchester United fan. So after we gave him the paint, he mentioned he knew Alex Ferguson personally. He had this idea, of asking Alex Ferguson to sign the paint and donating it to charity. 

I thought it was a great idea, as it was going to be donated to cancer research charity. As much I was happy about the paint being donated, I wouldn’t imagined it would raised £2,800 for the cause. Which I was even more happy about, and I wouldn’t imagined be happy to donate even more in the future. 

When our land lord gave the paint to Alex Ferguson, he explained to him the portrait was painted on a Manchester United t-shirt, because a lot of people when they look at it, they don’t realise the paint is on a physical t-shirt. I have to of course, stretch the t-shirt, to make sure it’s possible to paint on the surface, I transfer the image to the t-shirt and start the paint process. 

When you do art and tattoos in Manchester out of love, everything else flows, I never expected for this to happen, I did the portrait just for fun and joy, and it end up being signed by the person himself I painted , and donated to charity, which it made me even happier.

Getting Tattooed in Manchester in modern days

The year was 2006, and my journey began in the tattoo world. Even during my apprenticeship I came to the profound realisation that, the most successful Tattoo Artists were the more experienced artists, so I understood that I needed to focus on my art in order to achieve a good Tattoo. 

Fast forward to 2025, it’s almost like anyone with the intention to learn to tattoo, has no interest in learning to be an artist, before attempting to approach someone’s skin, or developing their artistic capabilities. And also, original artists, who worked so hard to develop their own unique style in art to Tattooing, are considering walking away from tattooing. 

In this blog I’m going to dive deep in to the reasons why all this came to reality in the Tattoo industry. How did the Tattoo industry used to reward high quality and original artists, to  reward Tattooists with no artistic capabilities. 

I started in 2006, Tattoo magazines was all you had, no social media and internet was not as advanced as it’s now. Every month “Total Tattoo Magazine” used to come out, and the Tattoo Artists in the cover of the magazine would be the next Tattoo Artist a lot of people would be following to learn, or it would be the Artist who would literally be re-writing the history of Tattooing. 

I will never forget the first time I saw Shige, Mike De Vries and Nikko Hurtado in the magazine. They were doing a style of tattooing I have never seen before, and I could tell their work was creating a new perspective in tattooing and some tattoo artists would be inspired and would be following that, and taking that style onboard. Those were the most successful Tattoo Artists in the early 2000’s, the ones who were re-writing Tattoo history. Opening a Tattoo magazine back in the early 2000’s it was almost like opening a Tattoo bible, where you would get mega inspired by the new artists coming up, with new creative styles, and being updated with what was going on in the Tattoo World. 

Fast Forward to 2025, a lot of young Tattoo Artists hardly know or are interested, in who were those Tattoo Artists who made Tattooing what it’s today, and artists I respected, and used to look up to. The artists who came up with the style they we fell in love with, should be respected by young artists and the ones rewarded in the tattoo industry. 

I believe social media has a big part of the reason why some Tattoo Artist’s are so rewarded for not being artists nowadays. Nowadays, Tattoo Artists get away with not creating art, and being successful in tattooing, and the reason why I believe is that Tattoo Collectors or clients do support Tattoo Artists who do not have an artistic background nor create art in a regular basis out of love.

I do understand that technology has made everything more accessible nowadays, specially in tattooing, for those who can not draw or paint, the IPad Pro is a life saver, as the Procreate app can mix match a lot of images, and cut a lot of corners and do a lot of stuff that only skilful  artists could achieve back in the day. I do use my iPad Pro, but sometimes I do still go back to the traditional sketch pad, as to develop, study and progress as an artists, traditional paint and drawing it’s I believe still the way to 

Nowadays, clients tend to go to a Tattoo Artist in Manchester who does videos and talk on camera, and the reason why, is because the client can resonate with the artists more, even knowing there’s a true artists who studied art all their life, and they just don’t feel confident or does not believe that you have to do a video to be a good Tattoo Artist , but everything chances. That’s why I believe true and original artists are not as successful nowadays in tattooing. Because with the raise of technology, there are some people who are not very good artists, however, very good with social media and technology, and they are the ones succeeding because someone looking for a tattoo, are not longer looking at an important fact about getting a tattoo, which is, is my Tattoo Artist an artist?

Another important aspect about getting tattooed nowadays, that is important mentioning to you guys, that a lot of Artists can do tricks with the camera nowadays, so everything you see online, is not exactly like how it’s on skin, or in real life. So looking at a Tattoo healed in front of you, is the best example to be sure if you resonate, like, or can see how good or the quality of a Tattoo Artists work. So don’t be fooled when a Tattoo looks too good to be true on Instagram or TikTok, usually when they heal, they will look completely different than what it was, when it was first done. 

Let’s not forget that some Tattoo artists do post an image of their healed tattoo online, which is something it should add trust to the viewer, and someone looking to get a Tattoo. A Tattoo Artist who posts and exposes their healed Tattoo, is an artist who have trust and experience in what their work really looks like, to have the confidence to post your healed Tattoo, is to be able to know what the Tattoo will look like when it’s healed, and that takes experience, and years of perfecting the Tattooing craft.

I really enjoyed getting in to this drawing, I did make some changes to the original Nike Goddess look, however, I believe, if its fantasy based art, you can get creative, and adding ideas.

Drawing is still a part of my artistic journey, drawing by hand it allows the artist to grow artistically and become more confident in the tattoo process. Nowadays a lot of tattooists don’t draw anymore, but drawing satisfies my soul, so I carry on with my journey, even with the age of AI, and people being able to click a button and creating an image, it doesn’t really bother me, because, in the end of the day, we are all living for the experience of whatever we love to do, and I still get satisfaction from doing traditional drawings.

Once I get immersed in a drawing I forget about everything, and it’s a good place to be, where there is no judgement or worries. Tattooing has a lot to do with drawing, a lot of Tattooists do not realise, when doing a Tattoo, you are still drawing on skin, you still need the confidence that’s available to be practised on a drawing. When I draw, I have the opportunity to express my ideas, and sharpen my skills, so when I approach a Tattoo, I’m totally sharp, confident and fresh to apply the Tattoo.

Tattooing is a different technic than drawing, I’m aware of that. Tattooing requires, stretching the skin, allowing the ink to enter the skin, all this takes skills and dedication to develop. However, the movement you do with your hand while you are tattooing, when you are doing an outline, or a shading movement in a Tattoo, it still has similar movements that you would do in a drawing.

I believe, drawing is very important as a Tattoo Artist in Manchester, as being a Tattoo Artist it requires attention to dealing with problems as well, every craft or trade you do, you will come to problems, and the better your drawing skills are, the easier you will be able to deal with problems.

Drawing and painting, it increases your artistic skill and understanding of values, value is the variation of the shadow, dark or light, the tone and value understanding it really helps in the cover-up process of a Tattoo. Cover-up tattoo jobs has a lot to do with dealing with values, and having a deep understanding about values, it can help you achieve a successful cover-up tattoo.

Re-Birth in my life and Tattooing

Hello Everyone, and Thanks for looking at my weekly blog. In this blog I would like to talk about re-birth. I believe we all go thought death and re-birth while we live. And sometimes we don’t understand why we go through certain situations, we don’t understand why certain things happens to us. We can not understand why certain things don’t work out the way we imagined, however, everything that happens to us, is in order to make us evolve, and the universe will have to shift your life, move you out of somewhere where you are not supposed to be. The Universe will move people out of your life, in order to move you out of a situation where you would never prosper, people who are not meant to be in your life, life will detach you from them, and it all makes sense after.

We all die while we live, and the process of being re-born while we live it takes a lot out of us. Re-birth is a tough process to go through, and we should embrace it, and not try to deviate from it. The reason why is, because, the re-birth process happens to us in order to make us evolve.

I started tattooing in 2006, in Bury, and in 2009, I moved to Leeds, as I was looking to make progression in my tattooing career, and try to meet and work with artists. Moving to Leeds it allowed me to work with Tattooists who could draw and paint, so I would spend all da tattooing, drawing and painting at night. That had a really good effect in my career, inspiration wise, and learning wise. I thought Leeds was going to be a quick adventure, that only lasted a few years, I thought I would be out of Leeds in 3 years, but it ended up lasting 13 years.

I did have opportunities to leave Leeds before 13 years, however, I did not make decisions based on what was best for me, I made decisions based on what was best for me and others I worked with, and those who I worked with, were making decisions that was best for them. Anyway, you live and learn, and I’m glad I had that lesson earlier in life, and I evolved from it.

I feel like Leeds was a school for me, where I learned a lot, however, I feel blessed, that I was able to have the opportunity to start again, leave everything behind, and starting again, somewhere where it feels like home. Even knowing, I’m not born in the UK, when I first arrived to England in 99, I came straight to live in Greater Manchester.

Thank you Leeds for the lessons, and I understand that everything happened in order to make me evolve, I’m still going through a process of healing and moving on, as it was 13 years, however, I’m grateful that I’m having the opportunity to start again.

I feel like Manchester resonates more with my sort of work and style, and I feel like tattoo fans understand and appreciate my work in Manchester. I did have a good time also in Leeds, and I met some incredible people, who became my friends, however, for my tattoo career, Manchester is more in harmony with me as a person and an artist.

It’s worth talking about small tattoos, as sometimes, we mite think it’s just a small tattoo, so it should be easy to get it done, so I decided to make this small article to educate tattoo collectors, about the importance of researching for the right tattoo artist in Leeds, for a small tattoo.

Why is it Important to choose carefully your tattoo artist, when getting a small tattoo?

A lot of tattoo collectors mite believe a small tattoo is easy to do, so any tattoo artist can do a nice small tattoo. Tattooing small tattoos, is actually harder than big tattoos. Big tattoos, gives the tattoo artist a lot of space, to fix and retouch any areas that mite require extra attention, small tattoos, requires a lot more precision than larger tattoos, small tattoos have very little room for mistakes, so a tattoo artist who’s very precise with neat lines would be the best option for someone looking for  small tattoo. Single needle tattooing does not age very well, so as much as it looks really neat when its done, it will not age well. So an experienced tattoo artist, will not approach a tattoo with a single needle due to longevity. And only a tattoo artist with 10 years or more of experience, will be able to learned from aged work, and make better needle choices for small tattoos.

Is it worth considering longevity for small tattoos?

 

Yes it is, longevity on small tattoos is more of a serious subject than any other tattoo size, the reason why is, getting a tattoo that is too small, it will not age that well. So it is worth considering that, getting a small tattoo you should consider a very simple design, and as clear as possible in order to age well. Every line in a tattoo spreads over the years, so getting tattooed by an experience tattoo artist will contribute to your tattoo ageing well. A tattoo artist who has been tattooing for 10 years will be seeing their work aged after 10 years, therefore that creates experience, and experience is something you can not buy, you have to live.

Geishas, the iconic figures of Japanese culture, have long fascinated the world with their grace, beauty, and enigmatic allure. Geishas, known as geiko in Kyoto and maiko during their apprenticeship, are highly skilled entertainers who specialize in traditional Japanese arts such as dance, music, tea ceremony, and conversation. They are not to be confused with courtesans or prostitutes, as they primarily focus on providing cultural entertainment to their clients. Geishas are recognized for their distinct appearance, characterized by elaborate hairstyles, beautifully crafted kimonos, and their iconic white makeup accentuating their delicate features.
 
The tradition of geishas can be traced back to the 18th century in the flourishing cultural hubs of Kyoto and Edo (now Tokyo). Originally, geishas were men, but over time, women took over the profession. Geishas were trained in the arts and cultivated skills in performing traditional dances, playing musical instruments such as the shamisen, and mastering the art of conversation. Their ultimate goal was to entertain and engage their clients through their talents, wit, and charm.
 
The journey to becoming a geisha is arduous and demanding, requiring years of rigorous training and apprenticeship. Young girls, usually around the age of 15, enter an okiya, a geisha house, where they live and train under the guidance of an experienced geisha known as an onee-san (older sister). As maiko progress in their training, they eventually graduate to become fully-fledged geikos. Geikos are recognized by their more subdued attire and mature demeanor. They continue to refine their artistic skills and perform at tea houses, traditional restaurants, and cultural events. Geishas are skilled in the art of conversation, engaging their clients with their knowledge of literature, history, and current events. They create a welcoming and entertaining atmosphere, ensuring that their clients have an unforgettable experience steeped in Japanese culture.
 
Geishas play an essential role in preserving Japan’s cultural heritage. They are guardians of traditional arts and customs that might otherwise fade away in the face of modernization.
