Coming out of Fire

My client is a big horror movie fan, and Michael Myers is one of her favourite characters, I remember watching Halloween in the past, but after getting the opportunity to tattoo this portrait, I revisited the story to get in to the tattoo.

The tattoo ended up being a half sleeve, as it was a cover up. I’m glad we went full on with the size, as Michael Myers is coming out of fire, as it’s a scene from a movie, so I had freedom to do a lot of fire particles. This tattoo is not fully finished, as I want to make the most of all the particles with the fire, and add more fire to it. My customer she is keen to let me add more to it, thank you so much for your patience and letting me add more to what already looks decent.

I believe that’s what it comes down in the end of the day, to how much care you have for what you do, love is what stands out most in the end of the day, and the levels of love can vary a lot to each individual artist.

I did this tattoo a while ago. I found it in my portfolio for around 12 years ago. I remember really taking my time with it, not only taking my time, however the client, allowed me to take my time with it as well. Back then i didn’t use as good as a camera as I do now, however, when i saw this image, I was really surprised with the quality of the camera, maybe I should kept with my old camera. Tattooing Ariane was such a good experience, she is very patient and has a good attitude. We previously worked on a realistic lioness on inside of her forearm, and then I was happy when she requested more realism work. She requested a humming bird with Caribbean flowers, and as I felt comfortable with her, I free handed the whole process and we were both happy with the end result. Thank you so much Ariane.

We are giving continuation to Ariane’s half sleeve. I free handed this little Humming Bird, as I feel so comfortable with her, she tells me what she wants, and let’s me express myself a bit. This procedure is always the best approach in my opinion. We are gonna be working on flowers around the humming bird next session, so I’m sure it will be all free hand too. She introduced to me a few images of what she likes, and she’s happy to let me take from that. Thank you Ariane for being so nice and easy going.
